FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the most popular roll off container size?

The 20 cubic yard dumpster is the most popular. The “20 yarder” has a very manageable footprint similar to a SUV. It is 14 feet long by 8 feet wide by 6 feet tall. The large door on the back opens completely for easy access to carry, drag, or wheel your trash in.

Will the dumpster break my driveway?

Our system to drop off and pick up dumpsters ensures your driveway is not damaged during the process and includes sweeping the area around the dumpster before we leave. Our dumpsters and trucks are right-sized for the residential customer meaning a lighter weight, smaller footprint, and less impact for your driveway.

Are your roll-off dumpsters clean?

Yes. We take pride in delivering dumpsters that are routinely cleaned and well-maintained. Besides customer service, what separates G.I. Bins from the competition is the appearance and high standards of our dumpsters.

What can I throw away?

You can put anything you want in the dumpster rental except for tires and hazardous materials. These include paints, solvents, oil etc.

Do I have to be there for the dumpster drop off and pick up?

No. If you pay by credit card online or over the phone there is no need to be present at delivery or pick up.

I have at least 40 yards of junk, but there is no way to fit a big container on my driveway. What is my best cost solution?

If you order two or more 20 yard dumpster rentals we will discount the cost to make it competitive with ordering one 40 yard.

How long does it take to get a dumpster rental?

In most cases, we can have one to you the same day.

Does the rental fee include all costs?

Yes. As long as you do not exceed the pre-approved weight limit or place prohibited items in the dumpster, you pay only the dumpster rental fee. There are no additional charges for dumping fees, pick-up fees or any other fees.

When we call to schedule a pick up, how soon can the bin be taken away?

Same day in most cases.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry full coverage.

What Items Cannot Be Placed Into a dumpster?

As with other dumpster service companies, what we can haul is determined by federal, state, and local regulations. G.I. Bins accepts most common solid waste material. This includes most household waste along with most construction waste and unused materials as well. We also accept tree limbs and brush along with most any landscaping materials. Heavy material in a large dumpster may exceed weight restrictions. Call us to discuss possible solutions (i.e. multiple smaller bins at competitive pricing) that will keep everyone safe and avoid costly fines or fees.

The following list includes some examples of restricted materials that we cannot haul:

  • Tires
  • Liquids (paint, oils, solvents)
  • Propane Tanks
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Radioactive Waste
  • Explosives
  • Appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons
  • Any other “Special Waste” as defined by applicable Local, State, or Federal laws

Will I be charged if I put hazardous materials into a dumpster?

Yes. If you place hazardous materials into a dumpster, a “hazardous materials disposal fee” will be charged to your rental.

What does G.I. Bins do with items it hauls away?

G.I. Bins makes every attempt to minimize the waste going into the landfills by donating, re-using, or up-cycling items that can be given new life. As an environmentally conscious company, we try to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much of the waste as possible that we haul. Other dumpster service companies do not take the time to do this!

What size dumpster do I need?

This depends on the size of the project you have and the type of material to be hauled away. Because items are not allowed to be loaded higher than the top of the dumpster, it is suggested to order a larger size if unsure of how much junk you will need removed. Heavier material such as rocks and cement usually require smaller dumpsters so as not to exceed weight restrictions. G.I. Bins has 6 cubic yard, 10 cubic yard, 15 cubic yard and 20 cubic yard dumpsters. Just call us and we will help you figure out the right dumpster size for you.

How do I rent a dumpster?

Call (248) 631-8202 for any questions and to place your order. We will discuss your project and help you determine the dumpster size you need. You will be asked if there are specific instructions for placement of the dumpster. Then we gather the information required to get you the right dumpster at the right time. A credit card deposit is required at the time of scheduling which is refunded upon pickup.

What is the minimum rental period?

If you can complete your project quickly, we have a great way to save you some money! Our 6 and 10 cubic yard dumpsters can be rented for up to 2 days at a cost of $260 (6 yard) & $280 (10 yard).

How do I pay for renting a dumpster?

Payment is done quickly and easily with a credit card, check, or cash. Credit/debit card payment is preferred and G.I. Bins accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Checks that are returned for insufficient funds will result in a $25 returned check fee.
